How to choose a suitable PP sink for the laboratory bench?

Laboratory workbenches are typically classified into types such as side benches, central benches, and instrument benches based on their functions and spatial layout. Different types of workbenches are matched with PP sinks of corresponding sizes to ensure operational convenience and overall coordination.

The following are common types of laboratory benches and the recommended sizes of PP sinks to match them:

1. Side Bench

Common dimensions are 900–4500mm (length) × 750mm (width) × 800–850mm (height), and a sink is usually set on one side or at both ends.

Recommended matching PP sink sizes: 550×450×310mm(ZAS002) or 440×340×280mm(ZAS003 PP sink). These sizes are suitable for most standard countertop edges. After installation in the countertop opening, they facilitate the cleaning of utensils and drainage management.

2. Central Bench

The dimensions are mostly 1500–4500mm (length) × 1500mm (width) × 850mm (height), and water sinks are often installed at both ends or on one side.

Recommended matching PP sink sizes: 550×450×310mm (medium-sized sink ZAS002) or 800×450×320mm (large sink ZAS001). If water is frequently used for experiments or large containers need to be handled, a larger size such as 800×450×320mm large sink can be selected.

3. Specialized Workbench for Fume Hoods

Operations within fume hoods often involve strong acids, strong bases, or volatile reagents, so the sink must have extremely strong corrosion resistance and a safe drainage system.

Common custom sizes include: 255×130×205mm (ZAS007 flat cup sink), 440×340×280mm (small sink ZAS003), etc.

Features:

The small sink saves space and is suitable for the internal layout of the fume hood.

The PP material can withstand strong corrosive reagents such as hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, and sodium hydroxide at a concentration of 40%. There is no change after a 24-hour immersion test.

The drain should be equipped with an anti-siphon and anti-clogging device to prevent the backflow of harmful gases.

4. Instrument tables and special function tables

Used for placing precision instruments or conducting specific experimental procedures (such as cell culture, sample pretreatment)

Recommended dimensions: 255×130×205mm (ZAS007 flat cup sink) or 300×150×150mm (ZAS006 cup sink).

It is mostly used in teaching laboratories or precision instrument rooms for rinsing small equipment such as beakers and test tubes, and is often embedded in the edge of the bench or under the reagent rack.

5. Installation suggestions for PP sink:

The holes on the countertop should be rounded with a R corner (4–6mm) to prevent stress concentration and cracking.

Install a bracket under the sink to ensure stable load-bearing when full of water.

Use hard PVC or PP special pipes for the drain pipe, and equip with a clog-preventing and odor-preventing collector to enhance the system's sealing performance.
